The Long March Toward the Universe tells the powerful story of Pan Gaofeng, a young rocket engineer born in the 1980s. After completing his postgraduate studies, he joined China’s top rocket research center—Aerospace Academy No. 1—where he became part of the team behind China’s most powerful launch vehicle, the Long March 5 (CZ-5), also known as “Fat Five.” Together with his mentors and colleagues, Pan faced countless technical challenges, setbacks, and public doubt. Even after a failed launch, they refused to give up.
